Darn! I'm sorry! Keep trying (or not). Can you do the cross-eyed kind? That's what this is.

Thank you, and thank you for the two fav's! I should make some more, I think. I just haven't had a lot of time, and they take time. But I intend to make more stereograms. Especially now that I have an appreciator! :)

o wow... this is the first one of the cross eyed stereograms i have even been able to get to work! very cool pic and effect! but oy, are my eyes killing me now lol. =P

i also get 3 designs, the center one being the 3d one. i have always been able to do the unfocus, or focus behind, type of these, and that doesnt hurt my eyes lol. (cant get that to work on this one) weird how its the opposite for some.

Thanks!

That's very interesting. I have trouble with the unfocus type. Unless I have some reflection to look at (and if I'm lucky I can keep my eyes the same way and look at the stereogram), I can't do it.

Hope your eyes are better now. :)

The reason why mine doesn't work with the unfocus is because I set it up for cross eyes. If you want to look at it unfocused, copy the image, switch the two halves, and try again. :)

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. Making a stereogram in Xenodream is trivial, because the shapes are truly three dimensional.

I didn't know one could make them on a regular computer...I got some cards from an aunt that had some of the stereogram type pix....I think they went by a different name...it took a bit to figure out how to 'train' my eyes to see the image floating between myself and the computer....neat! One of my caregiver's kids had a book full of them....but some images I just couldn't get them to work....:D

Actually, the stereograms you usually see for sale in the stores are a different type of art, but I believe they are made on the computer as well. I don't know what software they use. Maybe a search would be in order. I'd love to be able to make those things! They start with a rather fancy pattern, and variations in the location of the elements between the two images cause a 3D effect when viewed properly. Think I'll go taking a look right now! :) Thanks for the thought. I'd love to make some of those.

I remember that a lot of them appeared to be photographes with other images 'hidden' in them that you have to 'unfocus' your eyes to see them. My eyes felt like they were bugging out after a session looking at those images...:D

I found a program that makes them. The only thing I hope is that it doesn't make the kind where you have to unfocus, because I find that very difficult to do. I like the crosseyed ones much better. But I don't see a way to make the crosseyed ones. I haven't even figured out how to make one at all, yet. The kind I seek to make are stereograms, which basically use tiled images.

I found that unfocusing my eyes on this piece brings it out from the screen...but I end up seeing three images...the center one being the 3-D image that pops out of the screen. It's neat! :D

There seems to be a little bit of terminology misunderstanding. Unfocusing one's eyes is different from crossing them. To see the 3D image, you have to cross your eyes but leave them focused for that distance. Some people can't do that. I'm glad you can. I love the way I can make Xenodream produce these images that look 3D when a person crosses his eyes.

Yes, but it takes a lot of try out... no wonder the other who commented had strained their eye, to look crossed eyed? LOL.

I guess people have to decide if they want their eyes to bug out of their head. LOL Folks can still look at one of them if they want. I learned to cross my eyes when I was a kid, for the heckuvit. I never knew it would come in handy! :D

:hmm: Not quite working for me, no matter how much I try and de-focus. I'm terrible with these stereograms...

I'm sorry to hear that. Try looking at your finger and move your finger gradually toward your nose. I guess for some people it takes practice. Good luck!
