Artist's Comments

This is my entry into the current Apophysis contest. It is made with Skyfirehead's spiral script. The four images that follow are some that I considered for the contest.

The reason for the name is that the image is gentle and uplifting. Compassion uplifts the spirit of the compassionate person, and of the person to whom she is showing compassion. I chose this image in part for its painterly appearance.

This one I like because it's kind of grainy - to me it looks like lots of staircases going up one stone tower.

There are two essential basic strategies for success in photography:

1. Never reveal all you know.

Wow that's just brilliant. I can see both wings and... strangely enough, seashells. I LOVE the colors. Gorgeous piece :)
:iconpatgoltz:
Thanks very much! I see seashells, too. :)

awww...this is wonderful...love your color choices...I often have quite a strugle on what gradient to use with a fractal...this is quite a nice color sceme.

Thank you. You should collect gradients for Apo. The original ones aren't all that great (well, some of them, anyway), and there are some very nice ones floating around. And you should play with the gradients. I have done a lot of experimenting with colors for many years, and I have preferences for what I will use. I like three adjacent colors, for example. It all depends on what the fractal itself is doing. Experimenting a lot is really the key.
